BANGALORE, INDIA: Tellabs has launched its 7100 optical transport system (OTS), in the Asia Pacific market.

The Tellabs OTS provides an integrated platform for convergence of networks, enabling service providers to utilize their infrastructure by handling different network requirements on a common platform.

The system comprises the compact new Tellabs 7100 Nano OTS and the Tellabs 7100 OTS, both available with SDH capabilities by year-end, Tellabs said in a release on Tuesday.

“The Tellabs 7100 OTS and the Tellabs 7100 Nano OTS are our first global transport products, ensuring we can meet the needs of operators anywhere in the world,” said Dan Kelly, executive vice president, product development for Tellabs.

“We are committed to helping operators solve the challenges they face in delivering new services to users,” he added.

The capabilities of the system assure availability of next-generation services, so users get video and data at the speed of light. And with new unified SDH and native Ethernet switching fabric and enhanced Ethernet aggregation capabilities, service providers can deliver these services even more cost-effectively, Tellabs statement added.

The Tellabs 7100 system is part of its DynamicHomeSM solution in Asia Pacific, which enables service providers to deploy advanced video, voice and data services on networks to support their customer demand for Triple Play Services. With the Tellabs 7100 Nano OTS, service providers can deliver more bandwidth, with less cost and complexity.
