HP StoreOnce allows the same software to be used on back-up customers, virtual appliances, inline appliances and scale-out storage systems.
HP claims that HP StoreOnce software gives twice the price/performance over competitive offerings through its 'smart data and index layout' feature which reduces disk fragmentation and increases input/output (I/O) efficiency.
It provides support for iSCSI, fibre channel, network attached storage or offline storage interfaces enabling deployment of HP D2D solutions into existing back-up processes.
