Mobile Number Portability: Is the wait over yet?

Not 'All is Well' with India and newer telecom technologies, who always seem to be at loggerheads. The latest in the list is mobile number portability or MNP.

Over 30 countries across the world have implemented MNP and many more are going to, in the meantime. However, this technology has been awaiting its turn to enter the Indian telecom industry for over three years now, similar to 3G, WiMAX and VoIP.

Today, the Indian telecom industry, which is going through a phase of structural changes with falling ARPU, per-second billing and lot more, is in dire need of a technology which can spur the exponential growth it has been showcasing during the past couple of years.
