Jobs travelled for 6months in India b4 starting AAPL. I am guessing the income disparity made a long lasting impression on him. Although he has attributed his spiritual grounding to india. Why do we Indians act like ostriches and make arguments that are not grounded in data or logic? All of our arguments and debate points are either Driven by emotions or empty sounding pride. What has changed since the late 60s when jobs was here. Yeah we are still the largest democracy with a high growth GDP, but all that this GDP growth rate does is keep the unemployment level at the current dismal level and per capita at 4k. Income disparity has actually grown since the 60's. The difference between India.and Egypt is we have democracy. But our per capita and life expectancy are about the same. I think we need to see this from Apples perspective and think about why waste time and energy marketing in a country that has such phenomenal problems. We are still talking about 2g scams and power shortages. While the usa has ubiquitous 4g speeds now...that is 10mbps. Think about it. We have 50million infants malnourished according a union health ministry report and who health survey...this includes many so called middle class families. Malnutrition means not just physical milestone delays but also inability to grasp math and learning difficulties. I am not trying to lecture here...but have you done lately for that kid who gets you your butter chicken at the local Dhaba. We should celebrate our local communities patience and good nature among daily misery instead of the billion dollar palatial monstrosities that get built for a family of 5 within a stones throw of some of the most miserable living conditions. I am not sure why we Ignore misery among fellow human beings.
