PUNE: Tech Mahindra Limited, an IT services and solutions specialist in the telecom industry, is expanding fast beyond its current development centers, with one in Hyderabad in the offing after Kolkata and Chandigarh.

The company is acquiring land in Hyderabad and an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) is expected to be signed in the next three months.

While its expansion in Kolkata will materialize in March, the Chandigarh facility is slated to commence in January.

Talking about the company’s plans, CP Gurnani, president, International Operations, Tech Mahindra said, “The addition to our Hinjewadi expansion in Pune is also culminating with a formal inauguration very soon.”

An extra 10 acres have been added to its earlier acquisition of 24 acres for the Hinjewadi operations. The company announced in June this year that this campus, called Tech Mahindra Technology Centre West, will have the capacity to seat about 5,000 people in the first phase spread over 24 acres and when complete, it will have a capacity to seat 10,000 people.

Tech Mahindra started a software development centre in Noida in June. It has three existing facilities in Pune and two in Mumbai housing over 7000 professionals in Maharashtra.

The company has also signed a three-year MOU with the Symbiosis group of institutes to work on joint initiatives like research labs, sponsoring student initiatives, offering projects, mentoring students, instituting scholarships and targets to cover around 1000 students.
