BHOPAL: In the presence of the Chief Minister, Babulal Gaur, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Madhya Pradesh (MP) government and the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Under the MoU, the TCS will extend cooperation to the MP government in implementing the e-governance concept in the state.

Welcoming TCS in the state, Gaur expressed hope that other major software companies would come forward in establishing their units in Madhya Pradesh. He added that that under the new industrial policy and action plan, a number of provisions have been made to provide all possible assistance to the industries and computer software companies setting up their units in MP.

The Chief Minister also expressed the hope that the TCS would be having a good experience in MP while working on the e-governance project in the state and in future it would set up a global center in the state.

"It also brings about transparency in the government expenses and also benefits both the government and the common people. TCS is already developing such software in the other states including Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala," he informed.

TCS has recently entered into agreements with the Gujarat and Rajasthan governments in this regard. Chakravorty stated that a software center would be established at Bhopal. He expressed the hope that youth of MP would not be required to visit other states in search of employment after the TCS launches its work on software development in MP. Principal secretaries and secretaries of various departments were present on the occasion.
