MUMBAI, INDIA: Global software and IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is expecting around $600-650 million from its Global Consulting Practice (GCP) by financial year 2010.
This is more than triple the revenues of $175-200 million the Tata group company gets from the practice.
The company is also planning to increase the number of consultants to 2,500 from the present 753. The ramping up of the employee base is embarking on the fact that the industry is growing in leaps and bound, TCS executive vice president N Chandrasekaran told reporters here on Tuesday.
"Our revenues from GCP will be around $600 million by the end of the financial year 2010, that is by March 31, 2011. The growth will come from development of the strong business links we have with our clients in this vertical," he added.
GCP had contributed 3 per cent to TCS's first quarter revenues, while 25 per cent of GCP revenues are generated through services delivered from offshore services.
