The Magic Quadrant evaluates companies based on ‘completeness of vision' and ‘ability to execute'.

According to Gartner, "The number of organisations requiring global networking services continues to grow, due to globalisation and the growing adoption of cloud services, which are often hosted in different markets from the point of consumption. Organisations' appetite for more bandwidth shows no signs of diminishing, with video machine-to-machine communications and big data, coupled with IT centralisation, as the primary drivers. Reliability and performance control are growing in importance as business processes become ever more IT-dependent; in addition, IT architectures (such as thin-client computing) place ever greater reliance on the network."

Sumeet Walia, Head of Global Enterprise Business, Tata Communications, says: "Through the years, we've made several investments in our network infrastructure and services; I believe this leaders' position is a substantial achievement which truly represents how far we have come. I also believe this report shows our strategic roadmap in terms of network and managed service capabilities; our strength in both, developed and emerging markets such as Africa, the Middle East and Asia/Pacific; and our focus on customer experience."

Tata Communications' strategy is based on its strong network presence in the emerging and developed markets, its portfolio of IP and cloud services, strategic partnerships and its transformation to a managed services business model. Tata Communications has demonstrated strength in providing catalyst services such as MPLS and Ethernet solutions and Content Delivery Network services which have been extensively field-tested and successfully implemented through various partnerships. Tata Communications will also see the roll-out of new cloud enablement offerings, including cloud-based WAN optimisation services thereby enhancing its cloud portfolio.

Genius Wong, senior vice president, Global Network Services, Tata Communications, adds, "Our network strength is our key differentiator and we're very pleased with Gartner's evaluation and the leaders' position. Going forward, we will continue to leverage our global network, vertical intelligence and leadership in developed and emerging markets to deliver value-driven, global managed solutions which will ultimately give our customers the speed to lead!"
