Tarang develops e-Learning courseware for TVS Motors

BANGALORE, INDIA: Bangalore-based Tarang Software Technologies, a leading provider of e-Learning solutions and courseware to enterprises, has announced that it has designed and developed an e-Learning courseware for TVS Motors, the flagship company of the USD 2.2 billion TVS Group and the third largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India.

The courseware, which is an "Online Induction Training Program" for fresh mechanical engineers of TVS Motors, trains the engineers to become globally competitive by adopting business process with much alacrity, thereby offering sweeping business benefits to the company.

This courseware, which imparts superior online training from multiple locations, comprises an e-Learning module with a seat time of two hours. Learning objectives are met through the module, which consists of chapters containing engineering concepts, theories, practices, examples, process diagrams and animations. This is followed by practice questions and a final online assessment, which is scored.

Announcing the development of this innovative courseware, V. Rama Kumar, chairman and CEO, Tarang said: "This particular program designed by Tarang has improved engineer productivity at TVS Motors considerably. This innovative computer/ Web-based training courseware is extremely superior content wise and would help TVS Motors address their training needs effectively. The course is hosted on the company's Intranet and is also available in a CD format".

"The e-learning module is about 'FITS & TOLERANCES', a basic engineering courseware with animations and easy-to-read text-flow as per the Instructional Design Methodology. This was launched on a recent Learning Day, a monthly event to punctuate the learning and training activities in the organization," said M. N. Shivaprasad, manager - training, TVS Motors.

He added, "This module was the first e-learning module introduced at TVS Motor Company. We evinced good learning both in terms of methodology and content while the module was being developed. This course has been administered to about 20 fresh engineers in the last one month and we have witnessed enhancement of understanding on Fits & Tolerances amongst them through post tests."
