MONROVIA, CALIFORNIA: Tanner EDA, a provider of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits and Dongbu HiTek, a provider of foundry-certified process design kit (PDK) today announced that they have seamlessly integrated into Tanner EDA’s cohesive, integrated tool flow. Dongbu HiTek’s AN180 (0.18-micron analog CMOS) is optimized for performance and density.

It offers dense 1.8V logic and 5V CMOS, and moderate levels of power. The AN180’s versatility, coupled with Tanner EDA’s software solutions and certified libraries, will help IC designers reduce design risk and provide faster time to market for designers of mobile applications, sensor products, and low-power applications that require high-quality analog blocks, said a press release.

Tanner EDA is focused on providing innovative solutions to designers of breakthrough analog and mixed-signal ICs. Driven by customer demand, the jointly-developed AN180 PDK will give designers using Tanner EDA software solutions certified libraries to draw on as they create ICs at 0.18-microns for production at Dongbu HiTek, the release added.

Dongbu HiTek’s AN180 contains a rich set of analog components, coupled with up to 30V drain-extended CMOS devices (DECMOS), enabling this process to touch voltages above 5V. Since this is a modular process, and the platform for the BD180LV process, the high-performance power devices associated with bi-polar-CMOS-DMOS (BCD) process can be added whenever needed.

The AN180 PDK contains schematic, simulation, layout, and verification structures that link Dongbu HiTek’s specific foundry manufacturing processes with the complete Tanner EDA design flow.

“Our close working relationship with Tanner EDA is a reflection of our commitment to growth and customer satisfaction,” said Taek Soo Kim, Ph.D, vice president of Dongbu’s HiTek’s technical engineering division.

He added that the Tanner EDA’s complete analog and mixed-signal design solutions, installed at many leading-edge companies and in many leading-edge products, augments their world-class wafer manufacturing capabilities and quality management system for joint customers.

“Dongbu HiTek’s cutting-edge wafer processing technologies and high-volume production allow them to serve fabless companies, integrated device manufacturers and systems companies worldwide with great flexibility,” said John Zuk, vice president of marketing and strategy for Tanner EDA.

He added that their analog process has proven effective in reducing both manufacturing cost and time to market. Their continuing collaboration with this respected analog foundry is part of their commitment to delivering interoperability, productivity, and quicker design cycles to their customers.
