RDX QuikStor is a disk-based removable storage system with portable cartridges that offers rugged, reliable and convenient backup, ideal for the SMB market.

|It combines the benefits of tape — reliability, portability, archive life and low cost — with the performance, speed, random access and ease of use of hard disk technology.

“Tandberg Data continues to advance its RDX removable disk technology to addresses the burgeoning data storage needs of small and mid-sized customers who need reliable, cost-effective storage," said Robert Amatruda, research director for Data Protection and Recovery at IDC.

“The 1TB RDX cartridge, used in conjunction with Tandberg Data’s powerful backup and deduplication software, AccuGuard, with a typical 20:1 deduplication ratio, allows users to back up 20TB of raw data on a single pocket-size cartridge,” said Marije Stijnen, vice president of marketing for Tandberg Data.

The 1TB RDX QuikStor cartridge will be available in August 2010 through Tandberg Data’s established channel of distributor and reseller partners.
