TAKE to invest $15mn for growth

NEW DELHI: TAKE Solutions Ltd, an integrated business and technology solutions company, plans to invest around $15 million over the next year and a half to expand its presence in the country.

The company, which closed FY 04-05 with revenue of $10.4 million, expects to close FY 2006 with revenue of $ 20 million.

TAKE's current investment stands at $ five million. The company employs 460 people worldwide and plans to up its headcount to 1,500 by early 2008. It has three centers worldwide. The SCM competence center is based out of Chennai, while the life sciences competency center is in New Jersey. The South East Asia auxiliary development center is in Kuala Lumpur, where customization and some element of product development are undertaken.

TAKE also provides BPO services in the SCM and financial services space. Currently, the company is focusing on the domestic market on the services side, but plans to have an overseas extension next year.

TAKE expects 30— 40 percent of its growth over the next three years to come from acquisitions. The company plays in the SCM and life sciences space.

According to TAKE Solutions vision holder Srinivasan HR, “We would like to continue to be niche and would look at acquiring companies in the supply chain management (SCM) and life sciences space in the US and APAC region. Some capabilities that we may want include data warehouse and business intelligence, which we can use to ride our inherent capabilities and domain knowledge, add value and build a more complete suite.”

TAKE plans to set up a new center in a tier two city. Srinivasan said, “We are seriously considering setting up our next center in Coimbatore or Madurai for both our life sciences and SCM practices. We are in the last stages of zeroing in on one of these cities.”

The company would employ at least 1,000 people in the next two years in the new center.

The company is mainly focused on APAC and the US and has no immediate plans enter the European market.

The company has over 100 customers worldwide. Seventy percent of its customers are in APAC, half of which are in India.

TAKE currently has seven products in the SCM space and four in the life sciences space. In 2006, the company plans to come out with one new product in the SCM space and two new products in the life sciences space.
