TAIPEI, TAIWAN: Taiflex Scientific has announced that it was all set to ramp up its photovoltaic (PV) module back sheet capacity by 350,000-400,000 square feet by July 2010. This would be done when the company’s new facilities at its plant in Kunshan, China starts its commercial operations.

The company’s revenues were gaining high records of NT$562 million (US$17.5 million) in April 2010, according to a report. This was due to the increased shipments of PV module back sheets and FCCLs (Flexible CoppeClad Laminates). The PV module back sheet contributed 33 per cent of the total revenues.

The company said that the capacity ramp for the high margin PV module back sheets would help increase Taiflex’s profitability. The gross margin stood at 24.09 per cent in the first quarter of 2010 compared to 22.58 per cent for the year 2009.
