Secure messaging solutions provider Cloudmark Inc. had recently appointed Synapse as its master franchisee for India.

Synapse is planning to launch Cloudmark product in the Indian market through the channel route as well as online via the Synapse portal. He added, “Till recently Gateway was being sold as a software with similar licensing agreements as the other products and was geared primarily towards ISPs. Going forward, we want to create a plug and play version of this software, which will work with any ISP's mailing system, be it qmail, exchange, etc. It would be some sort of device like a firewall.”

Khemka said, “This product is something which we would ideally like to launch in January 2006. Exchange server and desktop are already being marketed in India, with our main focus being on exchange.”

He added that we might have something exclusive in terms of channels for the gateway product, as it is very very focused - targeted at organizations having more than 5,000 mailboxes. Apart from this, the company is also open for bundling the Cloudmark products with hardware vendors.

The products are priced on per mailbox basis. The initial pricing for desktop and server version is $37.95 per year per mailbox in India. The company is also offering a marginal discount of 15 percent to end users and educational institutions.
