Symantec names new regional director

BANGALORE, INDIA:  Symantec Corp today announced that it has recently appointed Rajnish Gupta as regional director for North and East India.

Rajnish will drive the company’s sales in these regions, with strategic focus on the government vertical. Rajnish will be reporting to Ajay Goel, managing director, Symantec India and SAARC, said a press release.

“As businesses continue to grow in the Northern and Eastern parts of the country, they recognize the need of having a secure and stable IT infrastructure,” said Ajay Goel, managing director, Symantec India & SAARC.

He added that the company is uniquely positioned to address this need of businesses and Rajnish’s vast experience will further bolster Symantec prospects of gaining traction across enterprise and government businesses.

Rajnish Gupta brings 21 years’ experience across enterprise IT and the government sectors, with his previous roles in companies like MindTree, Wipro, Cadence and PCS. At MindTree, Rajnish was responsible for starting the System Integration business, while at Wipro he has managed Enterprise Products and Services business, the release added.

“ My customer interactions over the years tell me that Symantec solutions are of immense relevance to business in India, at a time when cyber security, identity management, data protection and privacy is becoming ever more challenging,” said Rajnish Gupta, regional director, North & East, Symantec India.
