Sybase intros Adaptive Server Enterprise

NEW YORK,  USA: Sybase, Inc., enterprise software and services company focused on managing and mobilizing information has extended support for the Java and Eclipse community with the upcoming release of Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) 15.0.3 and by extending free licenses of its Eclipse-based database development tool, WorkSpace.

“Sybase continues to be a very active participant and supporter of the Eclipse Foundation and community overall,” said Mike Milinkovich, executive director of the Eclipse Foundation. “In addition to leading the Data Tools Platform project, Sybase’s strong support with tools and database technologies for the Eclipse community further demonstrates their continued commitment to open source development.”

This latest release includes new features such as enhanced support for third party Java Virtual Machines within the database, enabling enterprises to use the same Java Virtual Machine within their ASE database, mid-tier architecture, and application.

Free Sybase WorkSpace Database Development License

Sybase is extending free use of WorkSpace Database Development for ASE and SQL Anywhere customers through 2009. A graphical Eclipse-based tool, WorkSpace Database Development enables visual SQL building, query analysis and sophisticated editing and debugging.

Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) 15.0.3 is scheduled for availability within the next 30 days.
