SunGard Availability Services intros recovery as a service in India

BANGALORE, INDIA: SunGard Availability Services, the pioneer and leading provider of information availability, recovery and business continuity services, announced the expansion of its Recovery-as-a-Service (RaaS) offering into the Indian marketplace.

This builds upon the company's launch within India in 2011, since when it has been serving its global customers' India operations. With the newly launched RaaS, SunGard will be able to offer India's medium and large enterprises SLA-driven recovery timeframes for their mission critical IT operations, on an affordable pay-as-you-go service model.

A recovery plan, in an IT context, is the planning and execution of an end-to-end data and application recovery strategy to build a failover system in case the primary IT environment goes down or is not accessible.
