There are already several projects in final rounds of talks - all of which

would be executed out of the India Engineering Center. Apart from existing

projects on Java, Solaris and Star Office, some of the key projects that will be

undertaken from India will be in the areas of the iPlanet software portfolio.

iPlanet is a key component of Sun Open Net Environment (Sun ONE) offering - an

open, integratable product portfolio to enable the development and delivery of

services on demand.

Speaking on the latest development, Stuart Wells said, "The India

Engineering Center is key to our product development efforts. Some of our key

projects are handled and developed entirely out of this center, which is staffed

with some of the best talents."

With a slew of significant contributions to his credit in his 14-year career

with Sun Microsystems, Stuart Wells leads the development of Application

Services, Messaging, Security and Directory, Identity Management, Portal and

e-Commerce products for both for the Internet Service Provider (ISP) and

Enterprise markets.
