Sun Microsystems, IIT Delhi set up CoE

NEW DELHI: Sun Microsystems, a provider in computing solutions, along with its alliance IIT Delhi, announced on Monday that they have the set up of a center of excellence in E-governance at the IIT Delhi campus.

The center is an outcome of the MoU signed by Sun and IIT in September 2006 This initiative by Sun is being carried out with an objective to conduct research for E-governance and involve the stakeholders in setting up a better infrastructure, security, low cost government, and in all enhancing the quality of E-governance in the country.

The center would be organizing workshops showcasing their latest technologies for implementation of E-governance.

The center has held national seminar on ODF, workshop on datacentres and for IGNOU.
