Success and spirit of entrepreneurship at TES 2008

BANGALORE, INDIA: TiE Entrepreneurial Summit (TES) 2008, to be held in Bangalore from December 16 to December 18, 2008, will bring together a galaxy of entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, policy makers, academia, industry, thought leaders and other major stake holders. TES 2008, which is Asia’s largest summit on entrepreneurship, will focus on the key theme of Inclusive Entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship in a global environment.

This meet will focus on:

* Bringing together thought leaders and captains from different industry sectors and verticals such as Retail, Real Estate, Hospitality, Healthcare, Education, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Social Entrepreneurship, Clean Tech, Mobile and Financial Services and others

* Promoting interaction - Indian and overseas investors, senior government representatives and policy makers, business leaders and select companies representing a cross section of India’s entrepreneurial talent

* Developing home, rural and urban industries, SME’s and Intrapreneurship

* Providing a common platform for communication between entrepreneurs, industry leaders and professionals

* Proffering an opportunity to overseas and Indian investors to gain visibility within the relevant community

This is the first time the city of Bangalore will play host to TES and the event will appropriately leverage the unique industry and entrepreneurial talent and expertise that the city has to offer.

TES 2008 commences with the inaugural address by Azim Premji, Chairman, Wipro and further incorporates special panel discussions moderated by renowned Industry experts  viz Som Mittal, (Nasscom), Nandan Nilekani (Infosys) etc. 

The three day summit will also provide attendees with an opportunity to benefit from interactive Mentor sessions (one-to-one interaction between budding entrepreneurs and successful entrepreneurs from around the globe), Guru Talk (a forum where a small set of learners may interact as a group) with iconic individuals such as Sanjeev Bikhchandani, Scott Cook, etc. Inspirational ‘My Story’ sessions will see personalities like Nirmal Jain, CMD, India Infoline, K Ganesh, CEO and founder, TutorVista, Satya Narayanan R, Chairman, Career Launcher etc sharing their journey to success. Other high-profile entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and industry thought leaders such as Vijay Mallya (UB Group), Prof. C K Prahalad, Dr. Carl Schramm (Kauffman Foundation), Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw (Biocon), Apurv Bagri (Chairman TiE) are some of the eminent speakers who will share their unique insights at the summit.       

Speaking about the upcoming summit, Ravi Narayan, Chairperson, TES Bangalore said: ‘The need of the hour is to look beyond the technology sector and to promote interaction between other fast growing industries therefore propelling the economic growth of India. Inclusive Entrepreneurship is all about supporting entrepreneurs from all backgrounds and unleashing the creative potential that people have within them."

Pradeep Kar, President, TiE Bangalore Chapter, said: “TES 2008 has been crafted to provide exposure to and solicit participation by many of the other sectors that provide start-up opportunities and I hope the event will provide a platform to embrace other organizations and corporations that foster entrepreneurship and actively involve these groups in all facets of the Summit." He further added that TES aims to transform people’s perceptions of entrepreneurship beyond IT and would hope the Summit will emphasize the development of the entrepreneurial abilities of other industries.

Registration for this year's TiE Summit is open to all entrepreneurs, professionals, students, institutions and other aspiring entrepreneurs. The last date for registration is December 10, 2008.
