GLASGOW, UK: Stream Communications Ltd has been selected to participate in the prestigious Tata/UKTI Mentoring Programme in Pune, India. Stream's M2M wireless network services are highly relevant to the fast growing Indian market.

Lord Green, Minister of State for Trade and Investment says: "Significant opportunities exist for UK businesses that can provide technology solutions to help serve India's growth and support development in the poorest areas, where the right technology solution can make a big difference. Areas of potential include affordable healthcare, education, energy and finance. The Tata-UKTI scheme will be mutually beneficial for UK and Indian firms. It will promote greater understanding of the business cultures and help to establish partnerships that lead to growth."

Nigel Chadwick, director of Stream Communications says: "We are delighted that TATA and UKTI recognise the opportunity for Stream to nurture the substantial growth opportunity for its network services within the M2M sectors now emerging across India - in particular smart metering, asset monitoring, smart cities, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and telehealth. I am looking forward very much to expanding Stream's increasingly global footprint to include the Indian market, when I visit in October."
