StorageTek emerges tape automation leader in India

BANGALORE: StorageTek today announced that it has been named as the country's leader in tape automation by analyst firm IDC.

IDC's latest report, "India Tape Automation Value of Shipments, 2004," found that StorageTek led the industry with 25.3 percent marketshare in India.

"Being recognized as the leader in India's tape automation market reflects StorageTek's commitment to businesses in India," said Vijay Pradhan,India country manager for StorageTek. "Our outstanding team in India has helped make StorageTek the preferred choice for backup and data protection."

StorageTek's tape automation shipments more than doubled to $5.60mn in 2004, up from $2.35mn in 2003. IDC's report was based on the entire tape automation business, including autoloaders.
