Jobs is said to be keen on having Apple's R&D center in Bangalore functional before his visit.

The company has plans to hire 3000 people in India by 2007.

Jobs has special affinity to India. He had spent four years in the 1970's as a “hippie spiritual tourist” visiting holy places in the country.
