Steve Arend to lead Vance data products group

LINCOLNSHIRE, USA: Steve Arend has joined Vance Publishing Corporation in the newly-created position of Vice President, Data Products Group.

Steve is charged with leading Vance's data businesses to ensure that the content provided to the market meets the needs of the customer and is presented in a dynamic and user-friendly format. The group currently includes Red Book Credit Services, Greenbook and Doane Advisory Services. Steve will be responsible for leveraging these databases and growing these products.

Steve has experience in several Internet solution companies. Most recently, Steve was Director of User Experience and Client Solution Architect at Reaction Stream LLC. Prior to that, he founded an interactive digital agency called How Machines Work (HMW), which he subsequently sold to the global B2B company, United Business Media. HMW became UBM Studios, and Steve was its Chief Innovation Officer. His "pre-Internet" years were spent as a Design Engineer within the plastics, furniture and robotics industries, where his mission was to improve the human machine interface on a factory floor, designing ergonomically-correct furniture components and 3D industrial visualization.

Steve has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Western Michigan University and will be based in Vance's Lincolnshire, IL office and will also have offices in Vance's Lenexa, KS and St. Louis, MO offices.
