NEW DELHI, INDIA: Optical Fibre Cable manufacturer Sterlite Technologies Ltd will unveil its latest innovation BEND-LITE Single Mode Optical Fiber at GITEX / GULFCOMMS 2007.

The OFC has been specially designed for Fibre-to-home triple play applications.

According to highly placed officials in the company, Sterlite BEND-LITE Optical Fibre has a special significance as this optical fibre is specially designed for market requirements of FTTx (Fibre-to-the-Home/Premise) networks and applications, especially with rapid technological progress being made by telecom incumbents in the Middle East wherein new telecom infrastructures being planned in several countries,

“Sterlite BEND-LITE Optical Fibre is an ideal choice for Triple-Play (voice, video and data) service networks and access network installations that require very small bending radii. Sterlite BEND LITE Fibre supports these installations for cable mounting inside & outside premises. The fibre’s enhanced bend radius capabilities enable tighter routing, higher fiber density for component design and deployment of fibre in central offices, subscriber equipment, back-plane solutions, and premise wiring,” the official said.

Sterlite BEND-LITE complies with or exceeds the ITU Recommendation G.657B and the fibre is designed for high resistance to additional losses due to macro bending at 1310, 1550 and 1625nm wavelength windows. The company has also planned a technical demonstration on the macro-bending performance at the event.
