Your gadgets can get wet in various ways. It could be that your mobile-phone/computer/digital camera is exposed to the rain and is soaked. Another reason could also be your gadgets falling in water and getting wet ( irrespective of the water source). When this happens, we tend to get worried and stressed out.

But there is no need to get worried. By following certain tips, we can ensure that our precious gadgets stay safe even after they are exposed to water. These tips even answer your question of what to do if water falls on laptop. Follow these tips:

1) Switch off: The first and foremost thing that you need to do when your gadgets get wet is to switch off the device and remove the battery.

2) Remove the detachable parts in the device: The next step is to remove immediately the parts that are detachable. It doesn't matter even if you are in love with your gadget, just detach its parts for a while.

3) Shake and drain off excess water: Shake your device and drain off as much water as you can. But remember to do this gently.

4) Don't dry gadgets under a fan: Instead blow to dry. Don't even use a hair-dryer. You can hold the gadget in front of your air-conditioner for a little while.

5) Immerse it in rice: This may appear old-fashioned. But it works. Fill up a pot with rice and bury your wet smartphone in it. Leave it for one full day, then you will find it absolutely dry.
