Stanford owes Sergey Brin $1,000, PayPal to Zuckerberg $308

BANGALORE, INDIA: Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak, is due $269 from the California Automobile Association, Stanford University owes Google co-founder Sergey Brin over $1,000, PayPal has to pay Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg $308.62, and the state of Pennsylvania is believed to have not cleared Tesla Motors founder, Elon Musk, a payment of $408.

Sums that may be inconsequential to the industry heavyweights, but going by the comptroller of the state of California, it is just a wee bit of over $6 billion-worth unclaimed property with the state.

“Holders like ‘corporations, business associations, financial institutions, and insurance companies’ are required to report any unclaimed property annually to the state comptroller’s office. That means if you’ve forgotten about bank account contents or uncashed money orders, they’re sitting around with the comptroller,” reported Betabeat.

Further, it stated that Houston Rockets quantitative analyst, Christopher Long, searched the database for some bold-faced names and came up with some pretty amusing results.

On the pending dues for Zuckerberg, the report stated, “The address listed on the form is for 1743 Westbrook Ave. in Los Altos, California, the house Zuck and Co. rented while building Facebook. As a struggling entrepreneur in 2004-2005, he probably could’ve used that money.”

“Misters Zuck, Brin, Woz and Musk can fill out a Claim Affirmation Form to collect their money, though we’re guessing it’s chump change to the cadre of millionaires at this point,” it summed up.
