NEW DELHI: SSA
Global, a provider of enterprise business software and services, has
announced its leadership position in the route planning and optimization
solutions market in India, according to a Frost & Sullivan study.
Thiru
Vengadam, managing director- India, SSA Global, said, "This study
acknowledges significant presence of SSA Global in the Indian market and the
strength of SSA Route Planning product over home-grown and manual systems."
According to the IT Enabled Services (ITeS) industry report, SSA Global has
recorded a market share of 79.4 per cent during the fiscal year 2005-2006.
Frost & Sullivan expected the market for route planning software to grow
with a CAGR of 22.5 per cent from year 2005 to 2012. This is primarily due to
growth in the awareness of route planning and optimization solutions and a
growing need for automating of the transportation of employees in the Business
Process Outsourcing (BPO/ITeS) industry. The total market potential at the end
of year 2012 is expected to be $ 2.61Million as compared to the current market
size of $ 0.63Million at the end of year 2005.
The study reveals that, within BPOs, the cost of employee transportation is the
second largest expense incurred after infrastructure, amounting to about 30 per
cent of the total expenses of the ITeS industry.
Route planning and optimization solutions such as those offered by SSA
Global, are preferred by the ITeS sector for efficient planning and
scheduling of employee transportation using optimum routes, thereby cutting
transportation cost.
