HSINCHU, TAIWAN: SpringSoft, Inc., a global supplier of specialized IC design software, announced that the Silicon Valley Technical Institute (SVTI) has chosen SpringSoft’s Laker Custom Layout System for use in its technical training programs. The Laker layout system will help SVTI prepare future generations of chip designers to meet the complex challenges of implementing sophisticated semiconductor products.

“We selected the Laker Customer Layout System because it is best-in-class, and provides a production-proven EDA platform with which to train the design community. The Laker system’s automation technology, wealth of features and quality of results make it attractive for chip designers,” said Dr. Ali Iranmanesh, SVTI founder and chairman. “Giving engineers hands-on experience with such advanced tools not only strengthens our technical curriculum, but makes it possible for us to produce the most highly motivated, well-prepared workforce.”

“Community involvement is important to SpringSoft, and as a leader in the global EDA industry we actively reach out to support current and future generations of chip designers,” said Scott Sandler, vice president of worldwide corporate marketing and president of SpringSoft USA. “SVTI provides a valuable service to Silicon Valley engineers and professionals, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to share with them our latest design technologies, best practices and expertise.”
