Springboard Research ranks IBM #1 IT services co

BANGALORE, INDIA: IBM announced that Springboard Research, an analyst and IT market research firm, had recognised IBM as the leader in the Indian domestic IT services market with a market share of 10.8 percent for 2008.

In its report titled, “India IT Services: Competing for Tomorrow’s Market,” Springboard ranked IBM as the number one vendor in IT infrastructure services and consulting services. According to the research firm, IBM continueed to lead the market, leveraging its success with large end-to-end outsourcing deals and the ability to integrate consulting services. 

Phil Hassey, vice president, Services Research, Springboard Research, said: “Vendors with end-to-end solutions capabilities that span hardware, software, integration and consultancy lead the Indian IT Services market. The Indian market is transforming from small contracts to large multi-year outsourcing deals, and these vendors have the size and capability to maximise their opportunity."
