Sony to reshuffle games unit mgmt after hacking

CALIFORNIA, USA: Sony Corp said on Wednesday that it would reshuffle the management of its video games unit, two months after the company was hit by a massive hacking attack that forced it to shut down its PlayStation Network for about a month.

Kazuo Hirai, the electronics giant's second-in-command, who also currently serves as the president and group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc (SCEI), will become chairman of the unit.

Welsh-born Sony veteran Andrew House will take over as the unit's new president and group CEO from September 1, the company said in a statement.

Current SCEI Chairman Akira Sato will retire on August 31, the company said.
