Quoting an example of facts and figures of some leading mobile operating system, he said Symbain was in top position as per the study conducted in July, 2009, with a market share of 41.2 per cent followed by RIM, which had 20 per cent. Apple iOS stood third with a market share of 13 per cent.

All the stats were changed during 2010 survey, when Android secured top followed by Symbain, RIM and Apple iOS. This clearly shows that there is change and influence of human interest in using different applications in mobile, which will lead to application driven world in coming days, said Bruggeman.

Briefing about EDA 360 and collaboration with Open Silicon, Bruggeman said, the company has successfully taped-out high-performance processor at over 2.4 Ghz, which is the fastest processor in the industry.

“This was successful after adopting our new approach to Silicon Realization that moves chip development beyond its traditional patchwork of point tools to streamline end-to-end path of integrated technology,” he added.

Bruggeman added that the key element of Cadence EDA 360 strategy is aimed at boosting productivity, predictability and profitability while reducing risk.

Addressing the session on guest keynote topic 'Moving Towards Design-Lite for Innovation', Taher Madraswala, vice president of Engineering, Open-Silicon Inc, said, the company wanted its customers to grow with new innovations and vision in alliance with Cadence.

He added, “Today's global economy develop complex system in a new way with design visionaries partnering with subsystem experts and uniquely skilled system integrators.”

Unveiling a new IC development model, Design-lite, he said, both fabless and fablite companies are using design partners to help get more products out to the market with the same engineering staffing.

"New ecosystem must provide design value in the form of EDA, architecture, analog, software, I/P and physical design. When a company has breakthrough technology, they need to pick the key platform to create it to leverage and focus on their core roadmap to maximize their ROI," added Madraswala.
