BANGALORE: The IT arm of $100 million Sobha Group, Sobha Renaissance Information Technology Pvt Ltd (SRIT), has acquired the healthcare division of Kale Consultants Ltd.

Sources reveal that it is an all cash deal, while refusing to divulge the value. About 375 strong, SRIT plans to absorb the employees of Kale’s healthcare division, while themselves adding about 100 people by this year end.

With its overall healthcare strategy in perspective, SRIT has acquired Kale’s healthcare division to enhance its own product basket to specifically address two and three tier hospitals in India and worldwide.

This acquisition instantly brings in 11 years of synergic business amalgamation from Kale as well as quality products into the SRIT portfolio. Thirty-two successful installations, including the Breach Candy Hospital, are testimonial to the expertise and experience that is now within the SRIT fold. The acquisition will also significantly cut down the time-to-market for SRIT’s own enterprise products.

After this acquisition, SRIT intends to address and conquer the Healthcare space worldwide with a two-pronged strategy. The products that have come into the SRIT portfolio through the acquisition will be upgraded and repositioned primarily for the Middle East and other Asian markets along with India. The enterprise class product that SRIT is re-modeling on Java and .Net will be positioned for the American and European markets, keeping in mind the compliance required for these markets. Post-acquisition, SRIT hopes to grow the annual turnover of the healthcare vertical by 20%.

The healthcare industry has been adapting very well to the changes driven by technology and regulatory authorities, thereby widening the gamut of business and solution offerings in this space. SRIT perceives that this market, pegged at $ 2 billion, can prove to be one of its prime drivers of growth and hence, intends to channelize its energies in this direction.
