LOS ANGELES, USA: SOA Software is adding a new product, Intermediary for Microsoft, to its portfolio for Microsoft-based APIs and SOA services. Built entirely on the Microsoft platform, the Intermediary for Microsoft runs as an independent network management point and acts as an SOA and API intermediary between front end mobile, cloud, and portal applications, and backend Microsoft resources.

The new product lets customers virtualize their Microsoft services environment, adding powerful new features to their API and SOA services such as Windows security, NET.TCP mediation, and dynamic routing without having to write new code or modify their existing infrastructure.

"Microsoft customers, like users of any software stack, face challenges in security, management and performance when they expose backend services through APIs and web services," said Alistair Farquharson, CTO of SOA Software.

"Now, with Intermediary for Microsoft, we are excited to offer a new solution to solve some of the most challenging aspects of integrating backend Microsoft resources into an SOA and API program. And, because we designed the solution specifically for and on the Microsoft platform, customers can rest assured that they can continue to leverage all of their existing Microsoft investments."

The Intermediary for Microsoft connects front end mobile, cloud, and portal applications, to backend Microsoft resources. Intermediary for Microsoft works without the need to modify front end clients or backend services, write new code, or perform expensive integrations. With its policy-driven approach to modeling SOA and API service interactions, and backed by a feature rich registry/repository and full developer portal, the Intermediary for Microsoft manages an entire Microsoft SOA and API program.

SOA Software, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, is committed to offering the full set of SOA and API management features required by Microsoft customers. Intermediary for Microsoft augments these capabilities, e.g., securely exposing a backend Microsoft service as a Windows Phone REST API, or exposing a full Microsoft services environment to an internal company portal built on another technology.

Now, all backend Microsoft resources can play a vital role in cloud, mobile, and internal environments. Whether a Microsoft environment utilizes Active Directory, Windows Server and BizTalk, or Windows Azure, Service Bus, and WebAPI, Intermediary for Microsoft offers seamless SOA and API management support.
