Snapdeal, HDFC Bank take e-tail experience to a new high with e-commerce credit cards

Targeted at tier-2 and -3 cities, the credit card will largely service Snapdeal’s goal of converting its CoD customers to the e-commerce credit cards

MUMBAI, INDIA: As more and more people from rural India take to online for their daily purchases, e-tailers are getting innovative to retain their dominance in this digital space.

One such innovative launch is the e-commerce credit card launched by Snapdeal and the HDFC Bank. Visa is the payment processing partner.

Targeted at tier-2 and -3 cities, the credit card will largely service Snapdeal’s goal of converting its CoD customers to the e-commerce credit cards.

With this launch, Snapdeal and HDFC are encouraging customers to the co-branded credit card and also avail discounts and reward points.

Some of the offers currently available are bonus gift of Rs 500 reward point, flat cash back of Rs 500 on spends of more than Rs 5,000; 10 percent cash back while using Freecharge; 5 percent cash back on Ola Cabs; Rs 1,000 cash back while spending Rs 5,000 on Cleartrip app for hotel bookings.
