SMEs cooperation to boost Pak, India trade

KARACHI, PAKISTAN: Pakistan and India could boost bilateral trade by enhancing cooperation between Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) sectors from both sides, according to Senator Haji Ghulam Ali, president, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

He said that business communities and governments in both countries are holding serious discussions in this regard.

Ghulam Ali said that trade, visa policies should be given much importance. “It is sad that both countries issue visas at district level. No other country in the world issue visas at district level. We have to work on this issue.”

Senator Ali said business communities want to develop good relations and increase trade between the two countries. “Infrastructure, education, etc are not that good in both countries. We want the two governments to give importance to business communities so that there is a decline in poverty and increase in trade volume.”
