In an interaction with Ambika Prakash of CIOL Raj Shah, Chief Marketing Officer, N- Computing said how their products help in making use of untapped power of a personal computer.
1 How fast are SMBs in deploying the N-Computing products?
It has been two years N-computing ventured into the global market and, has witnessed a wide growth. The SMB and large enterprise customers across the world have found the product simple, easy, and cost-effective.
Unlike Cisco, our products do not need any certified/trained partners for deployment. Simplicity in deployment and low-cost maintenance are the driving features for enterprise managers.
Thus, this has led to the increase in the customers' base. N-computing has customers from USA, Germany, Mexico and India.
The rugged solution, which is water and air tight, is being sought after all the verticals, of which education and manufacturing verticals have deployed the product widely. Today, the industry has 15,000 customers across the world. 2 What are your products?
N-Computing has two products namely X-300 series and L-series.
X-300 series
The -300 series access device enables to share the PC with seven users. The device that priced at Rs12,000 and the kit includes PCI card, three access terminals, and the N-Computing terminal services software. The terminal connected to the PCI card can be accessible up to10 meters.
Users working on the terminals can simultaneously share all applications, including Web browsers, instant messaging (IM) programs, e-mail applications, office productivity suite, and even basic multimedia applications on the host system.
However, this solution is not recommendable for high-end 3D gaming or 3D design applications. The N-Computing X300 kit is an ideal solution for schools, training rooms, and SOHOs.
L-series
L series uses standard Ethernet infrastructure so that users located far away can get accessed to the host computer. The product enables 30 users to share the host PC at a time using access terminal. The device, which is cost-effective, is easy to deploy.
L Series is targeted at small and medium-size customers and large enterprise, is ideally suitable for high-end applications. L Series has two products namely L230 and L130. The device access terminal cuts cost on individual computer, A PC may cost about Rest 16,000 to 18,000.whereas access terminal Rest 4,000.It also reduces the electricity up to 95.
3 How secure is your product in an environment of multi-user accessibility? How does it affect the performance level?
With N-computing solution each user can have a separate keyboard, mouse and monitor, connected to small access terminal, which in turn connects to the user's PC. Plugging in of the device enables user to get access to his PC, gives personal experience to the user and data will be stored in the host computer.
Access terminal is only meant for passing the signals and doesn't have any storage option. Thus, data security is assured. The multi user process will not have any adverse effect and the performance level will be as good as regular PC.
The X series product cannot be compatible for high-end applications whereas L series is a better option.
4 What is your market strategy?
N-Computing strategies to reach the customers includes.
III tier partners: The strategy involves channel partners, who in turn are responsible for the distribution of product to small, medium and large enterprises. The industry has six channel partners across the country right now and is looking to extend the channel base to 40.
System integrators: Based on Build Operate Transfer Model theme this strategy takes care from scratch to installation of product to training the faculty.
