BANGALORE, INDIA: Kaseya Corporation, global provider of IT automation software, and IT automation framework, is all set to firmly root its presence in India by extending its offerings and services to the Indian enterprise market.
Kaseya has been making rapid strides in the Indian managed services provider (MSPs) segment, having sold 4,00,000 licenses in the span of nine months. The company is now readying for a similar success in the enterprise market in the country.
Gerald Blackie, CEO, Kaseya and Girish Krishnamurthy, managing director, Kaseya India, shared their views with CIOL on IT automation, Kaseya's presence in the enterprise space, challenges and pain points of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) etc.
“Kaseya has emerged as one of the market leaders in enabling service providers (SPs) to be successful in their businesses. Now we are entering into the next phase, addressing the enterprise market (Public and & Private sectors). We have announced that Kaseya is available to help them in India. Our announcement is timed well with a focus on the next generation products/solutions of Kaseya,” says Blackie.
“IT is undergoing some stresses, clearly in the enterprise space - across sizes. People are looking to do more with a lot less around the world. Our infrastructure management software has created tools to allow people to do more with a lot less resources. One can measure the productivity gains using IT automation,” he adds.
Focus on SMEs
“Kaseya understood early that IT automation was critical for SMEs than larger enterprises. We invested heavily in developing automation software that comprehensively addresses the challenges faced by SMEs in managing their IT infrastructure,” says Blackie.
“Kaseya is a company which has come up with business solutions for SMEs. We are not projecting ourselves as a technology solutions company, but looked into every pain point of an SME. We consider each and every business characteristics of an SME while delivering this as a business solution rather than a simple technology platform,” says Krishnamurthy.
Kaseya focuses on SMEs under four clusters – micro, small, medium and large.
“As a company, we see that more than 40 to 50 per cent of the SMEs – from micro to large – is served by SPs, and is serviced by the people who have been traditionally maintaining their annual maintenance contract,” he adds.
“Then the other portion is predominantly managed by the internal IT department. The common characteristic of this particular management is that either you don’t have the right automation or tools or you have certain different varied tools.”
According to Krishnamurthy, “In today's trend what you need is a single integrated platform – and this is how IT infrastructure management is defined.”
He points out that there are 32 million SMEs in India, and not even 20 per cent of them are having these kind of solution and tools.
“Kaseya can clearly make this happen. We feel this as an green field opportunity in India,” he notes.
“A typical medium business, with a small IT department, does not spend its capital to buy these big monolithic applications. They have a whole series of tools and not the right people to manage,” says Blackie.
“It is the same thing we see anywhere in the world. They are yet to achieve the goals in IT that was planned to achieve. IT is provided by third party service providers. They have a same level of big problems in managing their IT infrastructure as well as trusting the SPs.”
Blackie says the number of downloads of their software every week in India is huge.
“The experience SMEs get from Kaseya’s solution is exponential. Our solutions are very light weight and easy for them to deploy,” he adds.
