BANGALORE, INDIA: ZyXEL, a provider in networking products, on Tuesday announced the launch of ZyXEL NWA 1100 802.11g Business WLAN Access Point in the Indian market.
Focused at the SMB market, it offers the freedom of high-speed networking without wires. Designed to enable the WLANs of the organizations, NWA 1100 can be installed anywhere, even in locations unreachable by power outlets, said a press release.
“NWA 1100 is one of the flagship products from the stable of ZyXEL wireless range for the SMB space. Along with PoE feature, which is essential for modern day space crunching offices, it includes high performance radio for expanded Wi-Fi coverage eliminating the use of multiple access points,” said, Rishi Samadhia, executive director – Channel, ZyXEL Technologies India Pvt. Ltd.
“Because of the market slowdown the CAPEX of the SMBs are getting a bigger hit, ZyXEL NWA 1100 actually minimizes the expenses towards putting in a number of AP for the WLAN infrastructure to a greater extent,” he added.
With output power of 200mW or 23dbm, NWA 1100 is a 4-in-1 design, featuring Access point, Repeater, Bridge and WiFi Client operating modes. It provides flexibility for WLAN network deployments. With these multiple operating modes, NWA 1100 positions as an ideal solution for a wide range of applications in vertical industries like education, healthcare, retail, hospitality, etc, said the release.
With Power over Ethernet (PoE) capability, NWA 1100 does not require any AC adapter. Eliminating installation difficulties and providing everything needed to easily set up or to extend a wireless network in workplaces, NWA 1100 is connected through CAT -5 Ethernet cable with other ZyXEL PoE switch models or 802.3af standard-based PoE devices to get power and data. For the ease of handling, the antennas are detachable.
ZyXEL NWA 1100 delivers enterprise-class security features to small businesses. To shield wireless communication at the source, WPA2 with AES encryption provides the latest, toughest standards-based security, while WEP encryption supports legacy wireless clients. Additionally, Wi-Fi certified WPA2 ensures compatibility with all Wi-Fi certified wireless clients.
The ease to manage and simple user interface, allows the network administrator to manage the access point settings via Telnet or the comprehensive Web-based configuration utility. For advanced network management, SNMPv3 is also supported to configure multiple access points from a single location, added the release.
