Smaller cities take home DQ Awards

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Smaller cities in North India such as Jabalpur, Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore and the like marked a strong presence by taking home the Best Channel Partner Awards at the annual 'The DQ Week APR 50' awards nite, on Monday.

The annual awards presented by CyberMedia Group recognize the performance of the IT Channel in growth of the industry.

For the State of Haryana, Infotech Computers and Communication from Karnal, Computer City from Sonepat and Panipat took home the Best Channel Partner awards.

In Jammu and Kashmir, it was AGM Sales Corporation and Nice Computers from Srinagar, which were the Best Channel Partners. AGM was the winner for the fourth consecutive year.

Priyanka Computers from Raipur, Data Print from Gwalior, Computer Gallery from Indore, and Microland from Jabalpur were the Best Channel Partners for the State of Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

In the other categories, Saffire Infomatique from Chandigarh and Spectra Computech won the best sub-distributor and SI awards respectively. Similarly, Green Vision bagged the best system builder award, and Saitronics and Systems won the best Media reseller award.

Earlier, welcoming the channel resellers, Ibrahim Ahmed, Editor of The DQ Week traced the decade old history of the first newspaper for the IT Channel community, which was started in Chennai in 1996.

He urged the IT ministry to come out with a target for the PC sales, similar to that of the targets set by the ministry for telecom and broadband penetration in the country.
