Software vendors delivering specialized editors for real-time displays to the manufacturing industry are now able to provide drag-and-drop access to sophisticated WPF visual objects, including those provided by third parties, without programming.

The advanced visualization enabled by these software vendors embedding SL-GMS for .NET technology helps to enhance productivity of their end users.

This latest release of SL-GMS for .NET makes it possible for SL’s OEMs to quickly leverage the latest WPF controls in their specialized solutions, as well as to easily incorporate advanced controls, such as those for 3D or video, from other vendors. In an environment where visual presentation is a competitive advantage, such immediate access to leading-edge graphics is key.

“One of our main goals for our SL-GMS products for .NET is to protect our OEM’s investments from rapidly changing technologies,” said Rodney Morrison, SL’s vice president of Products. “Rather than having to release entirely new products to take advantage of these new technologies, they can make rapid upgrades to existing product lines that can show immediate value for their customers.”

Windows Presentation Foundation provides a consistent programming model for building applications, as well as a clear separation between the user interface and the business logic. WPF enables rich control, design and development of the visual aspects of Windows programs.

It aims to unify a number of application services: user interface, 2D and 3D drawing, fixed and adaptive documents, advanced typography, vector graphics, raster graphics, animation, data binding, audio and video, added report.
