TOKYO, JAPAN: Sharp Corp expects to keep production suspended at two Japan liquid crystal display (LCD) panel factories until early May amid unstable supplies of industrial gas, a company spokeswoman said on Monday.

After last month's devastating earthquake Sharp stopped production at its Kameyama plant in Mie Prefecture and the Sakai plant in Osaka, which make panels for TVs.

It expects to resume operations after a string of holidays that fall in the end of April to early May, the spokeswoman said.
