NEW DELHI, September 9 : SGI introduced the company's newest line of
midrange deskside servers, the SGI 2100, to deliver enterprise-class
performance and bandwidth to the server market at aggressive entry-level
      price points.
The SGI 2100 is the first server to be introduced reflecting the
company's new identity and growing server and services business. The new
server, designed to meet customer demand, leverages the I/O bandwidth
technology of the SGI Origin 2000 server, the company's highly scalable
family of ccNUMA (cache-coherent non-uniform memory access) servers, and
offers customer powerful interoperability and scalability from
two-to-eight-processors. The SGI 2100 server with MIPS RISC
microprocessors is available in two-, four- or eight-processor
configurations with the IRIX 6.5 Advanced Server Environment.
