MUMBAI: The Sensex opened the day at 4,644.86 as against Monday`s close of 4,631.39. The 30-share benchmark index soon rose 35.75 points or 0.77 per cent to rule firm at 4,667.14.
The BSE Bankex jumped 49.29 points or 2.2 per cent at 2,292.24, while the BSE PSU index was ruling at 3,120.01, up 29.81 points or 0.96 per cent.
