The deal followed Senergy’s decision to consolidate the technologies it used for wide-area networking at its operations across the UK, each with bandwidth of up to 100 Mb, tells a press release.

The three year contract was awarded to brightsolid, following a competitive tender process. Senergy currently operates seven UK sites, with further growth anticipated during 2009-2010.

Grant Cooper, Senergy’s IT Manager explained: “We are expanding our innovative technical and operational solutions across the UK, and previously bought internet access services from several suppliers. This deal allows us to consolidate our investment into a single contract, making it more efficient and cost-effective.

“Senergy is headquartered in Aberdeen, with offices throughout the UK and in key international energy hubs. As such it is critical that we have reliable and high quality internet access with instant support at all times.”

The company will have a private circuit connecting each office, as well as full Net access, using Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) in a very secure network.
