Sen will now head EMC BRC

MUMBAI: EMC India has announced the appointment of Surajit Sen as Country Manager of its Backup Recovery Systems (BRS) division in India & SAARC. In this role, Surajit will manage operations for the BRS unit work towards maximizing productivity, growth and revenue course in India. The BRS unit is a key driver of EMC's growth in the region in 2012.

Surajit, as a press release tells, brings more than 17 years of leadership experience to the role, having held in various positions in sales and sales management, product management and channel management, as well as in field marketing. He joins EMC from NetApp India, where he headed Channels, Marketing & Alliances. Prior to his time in NetApp, Surajit held several positions at Wipro Infotech and HCL Infosystems. Surajit holds an engineering degree from IIT Roorkee and an MBA from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.

According to IDC Worldwide Purpose-Built Backup Appliance 2012-2016 Forecast and 2011 Vendor Shares study, at the close of 2011, EMC remained the revenue share leader, commanding 65.5 per cent of the total $2.4 billion Purpose-Built Backup Appliance (PBBA) solutions market.
