MOUNTAIN VIEW, USA: Synopsys Inc. announced that Synopsys' DesignWare Wireless USB Device IP has passed the USB Implementers Forum's (USB-IF) Certified Wireless USB Testing and earned the certification logo. Certification helps ensure interoperability with other Wireless USB enabled products in the market, thus minimizing risk and reducing time-to-market for designers integrating Wireless USB interfaces into their system-on-chips. This most recent certification reinforces Synopsys' leadership position in providing users with IP that is interoperable and low-risk. The DesignWare Wireless USB Device IP is designed to the WiMedia Alliance Ultra-wideband (UWB) Common Radio Platform and includes a WiMedia MAC-PHY interface for interoperability with WiMedia UWB PHYs such as those from Alereon and Realtek. To improve power conservation in next-generation portable electronics applications, the DesignWare Wireless USB Device IP provides optimized power management functions with dual power rails. This allows the design to shut down power to sections that are not in use, thus lowering overall power consumption. In order to satisfy IP designers' complete protocol requirements, Synopsys offers a comprehensive Wireless USB IP portfolio including the device, WHCI host and dual-role device. Synopsys is a technical contributor to the Certified Wireless USB Specification.
