See how Nokia is saying goodbye to Sir Alex Ferguson

NEW DELHI, INDIA: From the past two days, a phrase you could not have missed on WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter or any other social media platform is ''Thank You Sir Alex''.

Hardcore fans of the Manchester United Football Club seem to be devastated by the news. ''You came, you saw and you conquered. Thank you, Sir Alex,'' says Khushi Dave on Twitter. ''Sir Alex you are a legend in the true sense, the likes of which we may never see again. Thank you for everything U have given to football X'' tweets Robson Green. The news has got celebrities tweeting as well. ''Hard to pay tribute to Sir Alex. "Thank You" should sum it up,'' says ace Tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi.

An engineering student Sunil, who's status message on WhatsApp is ''Thank You Sir Alex!'', had this to say when asked about Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement: ''WhatsApp status message is my way of paying tribute to Sir Alex. Things won't be the same in Manchester United without Sir Alex Ferguson. We Will miss you a lot :(''.

If this is one way of paying a tribute to Sir Alex Ferguson, Nokia has come up with a whole new concept of parting gift. In a post on Nokia's UK Conversations blog, Nokia's Paul Coombes offered the retiring manager the "parting gift" of an engraved Lumia 920. This was spotted by PC World Good Gear Guide. The blog post has the following to say:
