Softex Group chairman, R P Lalaji said that C2D2 involves processing of relevant data and information related to customers based on the calls made by them to call centers. This database is valuable for companies to retain it's customers and do further business with them on a continuing basis.

The relevant data processed from calls made to call centers include buying habits, tastes, preferences, opinion on existing services provided by the company, type of consumer durable and services etc.

Softex group has trained about 30 people who have proficiency in English and can comprehend British English for the C2D2 project. The success of a call center depends on the efficiency and ease with which the executives attend the calls and C2D2 would definitely improve the functioning of call centers. The requirement for a job in C2D2 is similar to other IT enabled services such as call centers, transcription work etc- a graduate with proficiency in English and ability to comprehend British or US accent.

Seaview Support Systems had started off with medical transcription and legal transcription work for hospitals and firms based in US, Canada and UK. Following the slump in the MT sector, Seaview has successfully diversified into C2D2 segment, the first company to do so in Technopark.
