SEAL facilitates successful SAP implementation

MUMBAI, INDIA: SEAL Consulting Inc., a leading e-solutions provider addressing enterprise-wide business and technology needs, facilitated an express implementation of SAP Retail Solutions with India's first furnishing retail chain @Home, a division of Nilkamal Limited headquartered at Mumbai.

@Home will leverage these solutions to enhance its operational efficiency. helped the company address key business processes through the implementation like: sales force automation, merchandise management, warehouse management, quality management and customer service. SEAL helps clients plan their ERP and Web strategies and also designs, develops and implements these concepts efficiently. @Home went live on this project in a quick period of five months, across nine locations, one Warehouse and the Headquarters.

Some of the challenges that the company experienced before the implementation of the SAP solutions were availability of real time information of inventory and demand, inventory management and data security. The company also required standardized processes and improved customer relationship for cross functional information, process control, timely order fulfillment and better pricing.

"The business benefits that accrued to @Home after deploying SAP solutions include real time inventory and demand information in single view across the division, better analysis and interpretation of data, reduced inventory and visibility of finances. The inventory of accessories reduced by 15 percent in the in first month," says Vamsi Chelluri, Vice President, SEAL Infotech. "The solution also enabled @Home to achieve faster and accurate implementation of promotions and markdowns from strategic teams to Store POS solution" he adds.

The Rs 460-crore Nilkamal group, which makes moulded plastic furniture, is diversifying into the lifestyle furniture business, where it plans to set up a chain of branded stores across major metros and smaller cities. Over the next couple of years, the group is planning to take @Home, its branded imported furniture store to at least 25 locations in major cities and simultaneously set up over 40 franchisee operations in smaller towns and cities.
